Fluid Power Design Solutions Limited was founded in 2009 by Stephen Dilks and Maurice Parkin (who retired in July 2016. Please click here to read the Company's announcement regarding the retirement of Maurice Parkin) as an independent design consultancy, specialising in port to port design / supply and training solutions. Its core values are to offer the highest possible levels of technical support and service along with ensuring maximum client confidentiality to the global fluid power industry.
 
Stephen has over 21 years of extensive experience within the fluid power industry, including undertaking design and development projects and compiling / presenting cost-effective practical and theoretical training packages for sectors of the industry including: Trade Associations, On & Off Highway, Construction, Nuclear, Subsea, Offshore, Marine, Food & Beverage Dispensing, Mobile Plant & Equipment, Industrial, Wind Turbine, Agriculture, Materials Handling & Processing, Powered Access, Military (including fighting vehicles), Waste & Recycling and Utilities.

For over 14 years Stephen worked for Europower Hydraulics - a globally recognised player in the fluid power industry, gaining a BSc Honours Degree and an MSc in Manufacturing: Management and Technology.  Most of this time was spent being their Product Development Manager.  This involved undertaking design and development projects and compiling / presenting cost-effective solutions for their customer base.  A lot of the experience being gained working alongside such OEMs as; Volvo, Caterpillar, Bobcat, Case New Holland and Komatsu, in addition to working closely with their Global Distribution Network.

The reputation and experience which he has gained is known not just in the UK, but globally within the industry. Stephen also has extensive experience of volume production of metal components (CNC and multi spindle) metal component assemblies, hoses and hose assemblies.

The theoretical and practical work previously undertaken being the foundations for numerous OEM and ISO specifications.
