Technical Background

Much theoretical and practical experience has been gained in the industry with time being spent designing and proving off hydraulic hose end connectors and ferrules suitable for use on various constructions of hydraulic hose, including PTFE, Thermoplastic, and rubber - both wire braided and multi-spiral. 

These coupling types being suitable for various hose constructions include 1 and 2 piece, skived and no-skived in both solid and brazed constructions. In addition, considerable theoretical and practical experience can be drawn up on in the design and manufacture of other related components, such as Quick Release couplings, customer specific items and adaptors in a range of alternative materials and finishes to the industry standard zinc plated mild steel.

For over 17 years actively participating as a member of the British Fluid Power Association 'TC4 - Connectors & TC45 - Rubber and Rubber Products' Technical Committees acting on behalf of the British Standards Institution technical department helps to ensure that Fluid Power Design Solutions operate and adhere to Standards and Specifications which are globally recognised and accepted as being the norms for the industry. 

Such involvement has meant working for several ISO committees which has subsequently seen the work undertaken being published as ISO specifications for the Fluid Power Industry, examples include ISO 8434-6 & ISO 12151-6, (Metallic tube connections for fluid power and general use - Part 6: 60º cone connectors with or without O-ring, and Connections for hydraulic fluid power and general use - Part 6: Hose fittings with ISO 8434-6 60° cone ends respectively).
